My Journey, My Lessons

What I Learned About Leadership at Campus Yatra

When I started my journey with Campus Yatra, a new venture under Smarts Choice Educational Services, I didn’t expect how much it would change me — both professionally and personally. I stepped in as the Digital Marketing Manager, and from that day, everything became a test of responsibility, patience, and true leadership.

Handling Multiple Teams — My First Big Challenge

Managing teams like Social Media, SEO, Graphics, Content, and Execution was not easy. Every department had different needs, different mindsets, and different challenges. At first, it felt overwhelming.

But slowly, I understood something important: Leadership is not about controlling teams — it’s about guiding them.

What This Journey Taught Me

Every day at Campus Yatra taught me lessons that no book could teach:

  • A leader must listen first before giving instructions.
  • A leader should be calm in crises, not emotional.
  • A leader must take responsibility, even when mistakes are not their own.
  • A leader should create workflows, not confusion.
  • A leader must be consistent because consistency builds trust and results.
  • A leader should help employees grow, not just get work done.

I learned how to handle pressure, how to make quick decisions, and how to stay composed even when everything seemed to be going wrong.

The Hardest Part — Managing People

Managing tasks is easy. Managing people is leadership.

Every team member has a different personality, different strengths, and different weaknesses. I learned that a good leader doesn’t treat everyone the same — a good leader understands everyone differently.

Slowly, I started becoming the person my teams could trust, depend on, and look up to during difficult situations.

My Biggest Realization

If I have to summarize my journey in one powerful line:

“A leader is built by challenges, shaped by consistency, and defined by how they guide others.”

This journey has taught me that leadership is not a position — it’s a responsibility. And you earn it every single day.

Becoming a Better Version of Myself

Campus Yatra didn’t just give me a job; it gave me a chance to grow. A chance to understand how organizations work. A chance to lead. A chance to fail, learn, and improve.

I am still learning, still improving, and still becoming a better leader.

And if there is one message I want to share from my experience, it is this:

Lead with purpose.

Lead with patience.

Lead with consistency.

And most importantly — lead by example.
